The Pretty Girl Complex

You know a girl like Sara.

A pretty face without much substance.

She's not very smart. She's not very witty. She's not very original.

Sara lacks that special core, that uniqueness. Her personality is based solely on how people react to her outer beauty.

Growing up, she didn't take time to nourish her soul. She didn't read books. She didn't treat people nicely. Everyone kept saying she was beautiful, so she knew that was her power. That's what made her special. That's what made her better than everyone else.

Boldly placing yourself on top of a superficial pedestal is easy when you think everyone else is beneath you. Beauty trumps brains. It trumps money. It trumps creativity.

Sara craves people worshipping her. She only feels human when men are fawning over her. She only feels worthwhile when other women are jealous.

While most people have hobbies, Sara spends a lot of time staring in the mirror, putting on makeup or just admiring herself.

Guys are obsessed with her. It makes their day when she flirts with them. They tell their girlfriend "she's not my type" but secretly wish Sara was in her place. They would ditch their girl in a second if Sara batted her curled Maybelline eyelashes in distress. It would make their dick feel bigger to have such a stunning girl on their arm. A girl who looks like she stepped out of a movie.

While Sara is flaunting her youthful, trendy beauty, other girls her age feel invisible.

They don't realize they're attractive too, but in a more fascinating way. They're most beautiful when you take the time to study every crevice of their face. Those oddities in their features, the kind that might seem imperfect next to Sara, are what make them perfect. These girls have bumps on their noses. Freckles on their cheeks. Gaps between their teeth. Dark, creamy skin. Their beauty is so poetic, it's mesmerizing.

But immature guys don't pay attention to real beauty. They're programmed to want the obvious, whether its Heidi Klum or Megan Fox.

And while most girls hate Sara, they don't realize how much it would suck to be her.

Guys don't chase after Sara because she's interesting. They chase after her because she won the gene pool lottery. They don't want to learn everything about her. They just want to fuck her.

Eventually, Sara will no longer be able to triumph over the other girls.

Even her beauty won't hold a candle to reality.

Men might be attracted to shiny objects, but they get bored with them quickly. Real men want a partner who can stimulate them physically, mentally, and emotionally. They want someone with fiery passion. They want someone who can make intelligent conversation. They want someone who can make them laugh. They want someone who shares the same interests. They want someone who isn't bloated with arrogance. They want a lover who is their other half.

A best friend and a soul mate, wrapped up in one.

It might take a while for them to figure it out, but they eventually do.

And that's why it sucks to be Sara.

She never wins in the end.

Guys and girls don't realize that they don't want to be with Sara or be Sara until later in life. It comes with maturity, so unfortunately, it could take a while for some.

I agree. And I agree with Cheryl as well, it comes with maturity and sometimes even then its too late. Shame it happens that way! Loved this x

There are girls who look like Sara and actually have substance too. Just because girls are beautiful doesn't always mean they're empty or superficial. It doesn't mean they're better than people who are not beautiful, but it doesn't mean they're vacuous and don't have a good heart or are incapable of real love or friendship. It's almost like a reverse prejudice. Similarly, girls who are not "obviously beautiful" as you put it, may not always have "substance" either, so to speak.

No hate here, just wanted to add some thoughts to the conversation.

Anon, I suppose I should have chosen a different title for this post, hence your confusion. I wasn't suggesting that all attractive girls are like Sara. I was specifically talking about the attractive girls who are like Sara. Vain, superficial women who are obsessed with their looks and act like they are better than everyone else. Girls who treat themselves as sex objects to get ahead in life. Those girls.

And let's be real, if all hot girls were like Sara, this blog wouldn't even exist. ;)

Funny...I know a girl with that name who was EXACTLY like that in High School. Disgusting. And so true!

On another note, I wonder if implants like those in the first picture hurt? Those things look hard as rocks. Totally not hating...because if I bought myself implants that ended up looking like that, I'd ask for a refund.

There are far too many immature boys (yes, boys) in this world who fall for the Sara type. Sucks for them! But it's so true that they only want to pipe them. Saras are just walking holes. :( .... :)

So very true. I like what you wrote about not taking the time to nurture the soul. I think that captures the essence of this perfectly. It does make me sad that beauty is only ever seen as one thing or one look. There truly are a variety of beautiful looks out there and uniqueness should sure be celebrated. Wishing you a wonderful week my friend.

You have no idea how much I needed to read this right now. This is so true. It's a shame that girls still feel the need to be a girl like this, and that guys will give up everything just to be her.

Amen, darling, amen. I was the mousy girl back in high school, and looking my life now, I'm happy I was. I rather take intelligence than beauty - because really, anyone of us is gorgeous with proper styling and little makeup or so.

But you can't buy brain.

It takes time, but eventually everyone understands this :) Just wish that some people would understand it faster so that they dont go through those wonderful days of youth wishing they were Sara.

well i know a girl who is sara: pretty, nice, popular in high school, AND has IQ 140 AND now she's in med school. sometimes it peer pressure who make peopple feel like they need to act and look like a popular. so,,, just trying to say that just because they have pretty head doesn't meant they can't be nice and smart.

what a horrible, bullying post. there is no need to put other women down based on their beauty. everyone has hidden depths, maybe you're the shallow one for not being able to see that

I was married for 16 years to a loving mother and wife. We had 2 children together who are now 11 & 13. I reconnected with an old girlfriend from college on Facebook and we began an affair and I left my wife. The woman I had an affair with is a wonderful woman and I love her too and our kids had begun accepting the situation and my wife has kind of moved on, but not in love with the man she is seeing. I thought I fell out of love with my wife and I felt terrible about what I did to her - she is a good woman and I don't know what came over me. I decided to try and get her back and I was recommended to Lord Zakuza for help to get reunited with my wife and within 48 hours after I made contact with Lord Zakuza my wife decided to work things out with me and now we are back together with our children living as one happy family... I really don't know the words to use in appreciation of what Lord Zakuza did for me but I will say thank you sir for reuniting I and my family back. For those in trying times with their marriages or relationship can WhatsApp Lord Zakuza for help or text with this number +1 740-573-9483 or you can send him an email to Lordzakuza7@gmail.com
